Ha! Actually not me.

I'm the other blue GTS that parks there. White stripes on the legshield and a backrest, no topcase.

Every once in a while all 3 of us are parked there. I'll get a pic next time...

I'm there on trash nights, Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. My grandma's building is probably what you're standing in front of when you took that picture. I grew up on Remsen but live in Carroll Gardens now. But I still take out the trash at my parents and grandmother's buildings every week.

Ah!!

Gotcha, I am usually over on Sidney place on Tuesdays, then back over on Remsen for the rest of the week.

One negative that I have had (with every engine modification I've
done(or had done) to my scooters) is that they suck gas like mad.
The 177 kit is no exception. It may give the VBB a big power boost,
but the gas mileage is really poor(still better mpg than my car).
I still love the scooter, I just carry gas with me

Yeah, I was thinking about the gas guzzling aspect..... Just got back from a little 15 mile run on the VBB with the new exhaust. definitely has more torque in the mid and upper RPM range, and it is just a tiny bit lean at high RPM's. Going to swap the main jet up one size, and see how she does with that. It has a little pause when rolling on the throttle from a stop, but I can live with that....

FINALLY! Christ, Scooterworks, you would think an Italian paddled over with the Pinasco kit in a raft! Got it today, after, lets see, almost two months?
And at first inspection, the combustion chamber looks ROUGH. Anyone polished one before? I am definitely going to take down the small bumps and protrusions, but I am not sure how polished it needs to be. Any ideas?

I'll go search the archives....

Also, with this kit, and a 12V conversion that has already been installed, anyone know if the timing will need to be adjusted? I am just really not sure, and I would really prefer no catastrophes! (especially those of my own making!)

Alright...gotta question for the guru's out there.
Have the Pinasco 177.7 kit installed, with the new Polini pipe (see above) jetting set at 45/140 idle, 160 air/BE3/112 main on a 20/20 carb.
The scoot will idle (rough) but will stay running. Mix screw is 1.5 turns out. Idle screw is 2.75 turns out. When I try to accelerate, it is a very stuttery, not a smooth sound like normal acceleration. When slowing down for a light, without the clutch engaged, it almost sounds like the plug (B7HS) isn't firing at all. When I pull the clutch in at the stop, is goes back to its roughish idle. I am guessing timing, but I am not sure, and this is getting confusing!
Thanks in advance,
Jay

Resurrecting the dead thread...

Hey guys,
This is my first post and I'm in the same situation: I have a '64 VBB and want to add some performance to the engine. I'm looking at the Pinasco 177 cylinder kit, a 24/24 Dellorto carb, a 12v CDI conversion and a tuned pipe. Now that you guys have been riding your Pinascos for a few years, would you care to give any input/observations on what I should buy to get more power off my stock engine. I don't want crazy speed, I just want nice response and to be able to ride up hills with my wife on the back. (I grew up riding a P200 and the VBB's pokiness leaves a little to be desired).

I appreciate any and all advice!

Cheers,
Mischo
