The answers (underlined) to all the questions on an 11/05 NYS DMV Motorcycle permit test:

1) A motorcycle approaching a bicycle should exercise extreme caution.

2) When approaching an intersection simultaneously, the vehicle on the right has the right of way.

3) When you come to an intersection you must stay out until you are able to pass completely through.

4) "Minimum speed" signs are to keep traffic flowing smoothly.

5) A helmet should fit snuggly all around.

6) To ride over an object rise slightly off your seat.

7) The most eye protection is provided by a face shield.

8) Car/motorcycle collisions are most common at intersections.

9) To carry a load on a motorcycle, keep it low and forward.

10) At a "no stopping" sign you can only stop to avoid conflicts with other traffic.

17) The only effective way to decrease your BAC is to allow time for the body to get rid of the alcohol.

Just passed NY test.
Thanks for questions from 2005.
The current one, was very similar.

I went early. There seems to be more takers.
Workers remarked that they needed more copies.
The 'cagers' test was 1 sheet, printed,
compared to 5 typed pages for scooter ists.

there were 2 questions not in Dmv manual nor
on their online website.

I just took mine a week ago. I was actually surprised at how many questions were from the car booklet and not the motorcycle one. I just studied the online MC one and did not review the car one. But luckily I passed. There were 2 sign identifications.. do not enter and a merger. I was surprised wit the number of alcohol questions as well atleast 4 of them. it seemed like out of the 20 questions only 5 or 6 came from the cycle book. So study the car one too!

I took the test in Manhattan today - passed (16 out of 20). Only 5 questions from above were on mine: #8, 14, 15, 17, and 19. There were 3 sign questions, but none of the above. Honestly, I didn't study much so it WAS confusing. Also, I read the manual after the test, and found out that there were questions that weren't even on the manual. So I don't know what to tell you. It's $23.50 by the way.
