A beautiful sunny winters Saturday afternoon on a ride which would be no more than about 10klms

The “You asked for it “ ride (The most convoluted route of travelling from West Gosford to Terrigal) 27th June 2015
We rode out following the northern rail line to Newcastle and Brisbane for some part until we reached the base of the rather steep climb up into the hills behind Gosford
This is where the air gets colder and the trees and bush throw more shadows over the road
Both Fred and I hit what must have been an enormous pothole which you couldn’t see in the shadows .
Thankfully no damage ,at least none recognisable .
Over the bridge on the M1 Expressway and then downward towards Ourimbah on Dog Trap Rd
On our left the road runs nearly parallel to the expressway and one minute you are above it , the next you are below it and on our right are farm properties with sheep and cattle grazing .
As you reach the base of the hills you enter a virtual rainforest of massive gumtrees and prolific vegetation and it is dark and cold .
Reaching the residential area of Ourimbah we are into the sunshine again and as we cross the main road ,we pass a football match that is being played on the local oval .
Our speed is now up to 80 kph as we head on open road towards Chhttaway and the edge of Tuggerah Lake.
Lakedge Ave takes us past the lakeside homes and past the small shopping centre where the small bakery was robbed last week at 5.30 am
I don’t know what thieves would expect to get at that hour of the day except maybe the “dough “ .
Traffic was fairly light when we turned onto busy Wyong Road and when we reached Bateau Bay we turned south towards Terrigal
At the junction of Central Coast Hghy and Willoughby Rd we travelled alongside the Golf Club fairways crossing the bridge over Terrigal Lagoon
Into Terrigal and a seat in the open sun at the surf Club coffee shop
There were quite a few people about but not many on the beach
The entire ride was approx 50 klms and took roughly one hour .
We made up for it tho by chatting and being the last to leave as the coffee shop owner had but put all the tables and chairs away
Brilliant weather for a ride and even tho there were only 4 of us ,we all enjoyed .
Hope to see a good roll up for our 8th Birthday Ride to Mangrove Dam in early July
