STAY TUNED FOR POSSIBLE CHANGES
We might move the time of meet up for the ride to Scooter Guru. As of now, it looks like rain all morning. We will look at the weather in the morning and make a decision by 9am. The ride, BBQ, scooter games, awards and raffle will definitely happen at Scooter Guru but the ride may be cut short and we might come back to the city after the festivities depending on what time we leave the city.

If you guys were forced by the weather to skip the Croton Dam-Bear Mountain ride, maybe you could try again in August? We'd love to ride down for the day and meet you guys at the dam, ride up Bear, and then head home.

Dan,

I'm thinking of heading up for the rumble.

Do you know of any campgrounds close enough to the rally location? Or do you know of anyone with a backyard that wouldn't mind a tent for a night?

Thanks
Greg

Greg,

The Alps Family Campground in Averill Park is 19 miles/35 minutes from the rally hotel and 17/0:30 from the farmers market. I haven't been there, but that part of Route 43 is a pretty area. Cherry Plain State Park is 25/1:00 from the hotel, 23/0:50 from the farmers market.

You would be missing out on some fun by not staying at the rally hotel, though. We're having dinner, drinks, and awards there on Saturday evening, and the Ramble 'n Amble ride will be leaving from there on Sunday morning, if there's sufficient interest. Maybe you could split a room with someone? There are still some available, and the hotel just extended the deadline to cancel without penalty to July 8.

I would put your tent in my yard if I could, but my apartment complex wouldn't hear of it.

Hope you can make it,
Dan

I'll be leaving on Friday morning. Any ideas for a route with only back roads to get there?

You would do well to take the Bergie.
